According to Deadline.com, SKYFALL, the 23rd film in the James Bond series, opened overseas in 25 markets and grossed over $77.7 million, placing it in the number one spot everywhere. In the UK, the film opened to an estimated $32.4 million.
This marks the biggest opening of 2012 and the biggest 2D Friday to Sunday opening weekend in history in the U.K., and the 2nd biggest all-time Friday to Sunday opening weekend, behind just the 3D Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2.
In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Dame Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace and Tonia Sotiropoulou star in the film, which hits international theaters on October 26, domestic IMAX theaters on November 8, and conventional theaters on November 9.
