The Hollywood Reporter writes that Robin Weigert (Sons of Anarchy) has joined the cast of Edward Zwick's PAWN SACRIFICE. The actress will play previously announced star Tobey Maguire's off-beat mother Regina in the biopic of legendary American chess champion Bobby Fischer.

The film, directed and produced by Zwick, with Maguire and Gail Katz also producing, is written by Steven Knight. PAWN SACRIFICE will also feature Lily Rabe and Liev Schreiber.

Weigert's other upcoming film projects include Explosion and Gods Behaving Badly. She currently stars as Ally Lowen in in the TV series Sons of Anarchy and has also appeared on the small screen in Chicago Fire, Chasing the Hill, American Horror Story, Grey's Anatomy, Hawthorne, Law & Order, The Mentalist, Private Practice, Life, Deadwood, Cold Case and more.

The actress also starred off-Broadway in Angels in America in 2010 and took the Broadway stage in 1998's Twelfth Night and 2001's Noises Off.
