According to Screen Daily, Robert Redford and Nick Nolte are set to take A WALK IN THE WOODS for IM Global.

Redford has been attached to the project, an adaptation of Bill Bryson's novel, for years, but the site now reports that the actor will pull double-duty and direct as well. The script comes from LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE's Michael Arndt, who most recently signed on to pen the next installment in the STAR WARS franchise.

A WALK IN THE WOODS follows "a veteran writer who in a bid to revitalise his life heads off on the perilous Appalachian Trail with his overweight, recovering alcoholic friend."

He won an Oscar for directing Ordinary People and another directing nomination for Quiz Show. His many other films, as an actor, include Spy Game, Indecent Proposal, All the President's Men, The Great Gatsby, The Way We Were and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He can next be seen in the film The Company You Keep, opposite Shia LaBeouf, in which he will also direct.
