Goteborg International Film Festival proudly and happily presents the British actor and director, Ralph Fiennes, as the recipient of the Honorary 2014 Dragon Award.

Classic English literature runs like a strong thread through Ralph Fiennes' worklife. From the feature film debut as an actor in Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights (1992) to his directorial debut with Shakespeare's Coriolanus (2011) and his latest film The Invisible Woman, about the author Charles Dickens' secret love affair with a young actress.

Since his great international breakthrough with Schindler's List (1993), Fiennes has belonged to the chosen band of actors whose mien grants a mysterious aura to films in all genres. His acting is characterized by gravity, vigor and extraordinary presence.

These qualities come to extensive use in the role as Harry Potter's mortal enemy and the personification of evil: Lord Voldemort. But they also found a solid basis for virtuoso comedic performances, as in the leading part in Wes Anderson's new film The Great Budapest Hotel.

Ralph Fiennes will visit the festival January 24-26
