KILL THE MESSENGER follows real-life, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Gary Webb, who exposed the CIA's involvement in Nicaragua's Contra rebel cocaine imports into California in the '80s. The CIA attempted to skirt the accusations, and Webb was found shot in the head twice. It was said he "committed suicide".

Vega will play the girlfriend of a jailed drug dealer. The film is aiming to begin production in August in Atlanta.

Vega's next projects include Grace of Monaco, Pompeii, Espectro, The Jesuit, Paradise City and A Fall from Grace, as well as this year's I'm So Excited. Past film credits include: I Will Survive, Sex and Lucia, Talk to Her, The Other Side of the Bed, Novo, Carmen, Spanglish, 10 Items or Less, The Borgia, Fade to Black, The Lark Farm, The Human Contract, Not Forgotten, The Six Wives of Henry Lefay, Triage, Angel of Evil, Cat Run and more.
