The movie will follow a modern girl transported into the middle of Jane Austen's PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. The new US version is based on the British TV mini-series that came out in 2008, starring Jemima Rooper and Gemma Arterton.
Aside for her work on IFC's PORTLANDIA with Fred Armisen, Brownstein has appeared in the films Group, Some Days Are Better Than Others and will be seen in Carol next year. Before pursuing a career in comedy, she was the guitarist and singer for the band Sleater-Kinney. She now plays with Wild Flag, who released their self-titled debut album in 2011.
