Alexandre Renoir, the great grandson of Pierre-Auguste Renoir, is the featured artist over Memorial Day weekend as Ocean Galleries (9618 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ) hosts a collection of his most recent paintings. "Renoir: Broader Horizons" opens today, May 23, 2014 and runs through Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Stone Harbor location of Ocean Galleries.
During the three-day exhibition, guests can enjoy intimate receptions with Alexandre Renoir from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24, as well as 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 25. Throughout the weekend, Alexandre Renoir will share his artistic talents as he paints during the receptions. "We are very excited to welcome back our friend and legendary artist, Alexandre Renoir," said gallery owner, Kim Miller. "Since his last visit, Alexandre has explored new subject matter, such as landscapes and seascapes. The results are breathtaking!" Alexandre Renoir's interest in art started at a young age, having grown up immersed in the Renoir family and the magnificent Impressionism artwork of his great-grandfather, Pierre-Auguste Renoir. His great-grandfather has been largely credited for developing the Impressionistic style, which has since become one of the more popular and beloved art forms. Alexandre was artistically trained at various arts-oriented schools, including the Virginia Park School for the Artistically Gifted and the Victoria School for the Arts and Performance, where he graduated in 1993. In addition to his formal education, he also attended classes at the Alberta Museum on Aboriginal Arts and Crafts, garnering experience in sculpture, pottery, woodworking, stone carving, commercial art, photography, and painting.Videos
