On the eve of U2's concert at Heinz Field, the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center will present a special advance screening of Killing Bono, a rock-and-roll comedy based on author Neil McCormick's 2003 comedic memoir of the same name, on Monday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m. The event will be hosted by McCormick, who is this year's artist-in-residence at Lincoln Park' Summer Writer's Conference and Workshops.

The Killing Bono screening is free and open to the public, but tickets must be reserved in advance. Tickets will be available beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29 through the Lincoln Park box office. A limit of four tickets per order will be enforced. Tickets can be obtained in-person at the box office, through the Center's website, www.lppac.org, or by calling (724) 643-9004, and pressing option "2." A $1.00 processing fee will be charged per-ticket for all online and phone orders. The film is rated R and no one under 17 will be admitted without a parent or adult guardian.

Based on real events, Killing Bono tells the story of young Irish rocker McCormick and his younger brother, Ivan, who attempt to become rock stars but can only look on as their school friends form U2 and become the biggest band in the world. The film stars Ben Barnes (Prince Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia) as Neil McCormick, Robert Sheehan (Misfits, Cherrybomb) as Ivan McCormick, and Martin McCann (Closing the Ring, HBO's "The Pacific") as Bono. It also features the final film performance of the late Academy Award-nominated actor Pete Postlethwaite (Inception, The Town).

Killing Bono was directed by Nick Hamm from a screenplay by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais (The Commitments). The film will be released in theaters and on VOD this Fall by ARC Entertainment and XLrator Media. The movie's soundtrack is available from Sony Music. For more information on the film, visit the official Killing Bono blog at www.killingbonoblog.com.

@U2, the home of the best online coverage of U2 and one of the largest online U2 fan communities, will hold a special post-screening reception, including food, beverages and a Q&A with McCormick following the film. Tickets for this event are $10.00 and are also available through the Lincoln Park box office.
