In a move that brings the ever expnading film festival to the heart of the city's downtown area, Movies At The Mill Easton (MME) will display its 2014 slate of films at The State Theatre tonight, September 13th.

The event, known for it's artistic and cosmopolitan appeal, continues to raise the bar on it's attendee experience. "We're constantly working to keep things fresh and engaging" says festival director Gershon Hinkson "and this requires a bit of experimenting to see what works. This year, unlike years past, we want to offer a proper 'downtown experience' with an itinerary that includes a premiere event at a swanky location like the State Theatre, culinary decadence revered across the region, a nighttime stroll through our beautiful downtown, and to top things off - an after party that's guaranteed to have you dance the night away. These are the things that make a night magical and that's what MME 2014 has in store."

The excitement for this year's festival can be felt by all of those involved. State Theatre CEO Shelley Brown says "We are thrilled to be a part of the festival this year, especially since the State Theatre enjoyed many years as a movie palace. What a glorious place to see films!" The Mayor's Office of Special Events (M.O.O.S.E) - the most dynamic supporter of the event - shares in the excitement. "The Movies At The Mill film festival is indicative of the renaissance happening in Easton right now." says Easton mayor, Salvatore J. Panto Jr. "It's good for our residents, it's good for our businesses and it's good for the arts when we can take a moment to realize and even celebrate our growth as a city." he continued. Continuing to be a shining example of private sector support of the arts and the community, Merchants Bank is on board, yet again, as the festival's title sponsor - making this their third year in a row. Merchants CEO Anthony Biondi says "The films, the food, and the atmosphere are always top notch. I'm proud to be part of an event that does such a great service for the community and I'm looking forward to this year at the State Theatre."

The Call for film submissions is open as well. Submisson forms and instructions can be Downloaded by visting www.moviesatthemill.com and clicking the "submissions" button.

Movies At The Mill Easton (MME) is a film festival created to aid in the redevelopment of the city of Easton. With the support of Easton mayor, Salvatore J. Panto Jr., the direction of filmmaker Gershon Hinkson, and the commitment of it's countless volunteers and sponsors, this annual festival has become a beacon for culture and a provoker of positive change in the city.

Since its inception in 2009, MME has grown from a local event to one that boasts an international slate of short films. The festival plays host to approximately 2,000 attendees each year and has even expanded to offer a seminar series led by notable Hollywood filmmakers. Last year's inaugural seminar, Getting The Film Made was conducted by Academy Award nominee and Supersize Me director Morgan Spurlock.
