Emmy-award-nominated actress Minnie Driver took the stage at the Beverly Hilton Hotel Thursday evening for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Grants Banquet to accept the renowned journalism society's first-time grant to the Screen Actors Guild Foundation.

Driver, nominated for a 2014 Emmy for her starring role in the new Lifetime cable film Return to Zero, thanked the Association for its generous grant that will fund 24 LifeRaft livestream broadcasts.

"The SAG Foundation's LifeRaft livestream shares information about the business side of acting, which, as many of us know, can be quite overwhelming." Driver said. "Technology is rapidly changing, and it's therefore imperative that our performers understand the evolving industry landscape, and are provided with the tools necessary to navigate these changes successfully."

SAG Foundation President JoBeth Williams expressed her gratitude to the Hollywood Foreign Press.

"The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is a cornerstone in the entertainment industry and provides indispensible support to the performing arts. We're so pleased they've chosen the SAG Foundation as the recipient of this grant, and we hope this is the beginning of a long and lasting partnership."

The grant from the HFPA will be used to underwrite 50% of the cost of the SAG Foundation's Los Angeles livestream broadcasts for its LifeRaft Program for one year. These events are available to SAG-AFTRA performers, as well as a world-wide online audience, offering the most current, relevant and valuable information on the business side of acting from established industry professionals at no cost to the viewer.
