Following last week's rumors, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Michelle MacLaren has officially signed on to develop and direct Warner Bros. upcoming WONDER WOMAN movie, starring Gal Gadot.

MacLaren will reportedly sit down the film's writers in order to finalize the script.

No word yet on the plot of the film, but Gadot will make her first appearance as the superhero in BATMAN V. SUPERMAN in March 2016.

Jennifer Kent and Lesli Linka Glatter were also in the running to take the director's chair.

WONDER WOMAN will hit theaters on June 23, 2017.

MacLaren's other directing credits include GAME OF THRONES, THE WALKING DEAD, BREAKING BAD and its spin-off BETTER CALL SAUL, THE X-FILES, THE LEFTOVERS and more.
