Marvel Announces FALCON as New Captain America and Brand-New IRON MAN!

Earlier this week, Marvel made a big announcement on ABC's The View that the iconic superhero Thor would now be a female. Yesterday, Marvel Entertainment made two more huge announcements!

First up, Sam Wilson, better known as the high-flying Falcon will be taking over Captain America's stars, stripes and shield in upcoming issue, "All-New Captain America" #1, written by Rick Remender and illustrated by Stuart Immonen

"Historically, Falcon would often act as air support, flying Steve into the battle. Why not merge the two?" Remender tells Marvel.com. "He pops the wings, and as he flies, he keeps the shield latched onto his back. He dives down onto the scene, hurls the shield, wings retract, and rolls into a kick or jump, catches the shield on the way back. He doesn't have the super soldier serum, but he has the added zing-zang-zoom of flight." Get a First Look below:

The second revelation from Marvel is that there will be a brand new Iron Man in town as the hero gets an all-new look in the pages of "Superior Iron Man" #1, available in November from writer Tom Taylor and artist Yildiray Cinar. In the new series, Iron Man will move to San Francisco.

"The Genius Bar costume is there for a reason," Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso tells Entertainment Weekly about the redesign. "The newly-transformed Superior Iron Man has very ambitious plans for the city that some of its residents embrace, but not all."
