The illustrious Clayton Moore signature screen-used black mask from the wildly popular THE LONE RANGER 1950s ABC-TV series (1949-1956) is one of the highlights of THE COLLECTION of THE LONE RANGER memorabilia being auctioned at Profiles in History's "Hollywood Auction" taking place October 17-20, 2014.
The black mask known to signify the symbol of justice for the "Lone Ranger" was worn by celebrated actor Clayton Moore who played the mysterious gun slinging hero in the 1950's THE LONE RANGER TV show. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Clayton Moore's daughter, Dawn Moore, the mask was designed especially for the actor's face and is ultimately one of the last of three known to be kept by Moore until his death in 1999; one of which remains on display at the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of American History in Washington D.C. and the second with a private collector. The Lone Ranger's iconic custom-made mask is constructed of a face-fitting shell created to fit Moore's face perfectly for comfort, designed not to interfere with his peripheral vision permitting Moore to safely perform his own stunts. The pre-auction estimate is $30,000 - $50,000.Qualified bidders can participate in person, by telephone, submit absentee bids or participate online in real-time from any location with Internet access.
