Jonathan Groff On FROZEN Oscar Wins & LOOKING Singing Possibility
Popular Broadway and Hollywood crossover star Jonathan Groff reacts to the multiple wins by Disney's hit animated feature film musical FROZEN, in which he stars, as well as the possibility of crooning a tune on the next season of his recently renewed HBO drama series LOOKING as part of a new interview.
Remarking on FROZEN taking home the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature as well as Best Song on the Oscars telecast, Groff shares, "I'm in an afterglow moment of Frozen winning. 'Let It Go' is still stuck in my head."
Furthermore, Groff relates of the hummable nature of FROZEN's standout tune "Let It Go", offering, "I was with my friend yesterday saying, 'How can we not get this song out of our heads?'"
Plus, Groff reveals that his character on HBO's LOOKING might find a moment to display some singing skills next season, or not, sharing, "I think Patrick would be a terrible singer, actually. I have an instinct that he is the kind of person who would get super drunk and sing Madonna at karaoke, but it would be horrendous. So that would be fun."
Groff also says he originally met LOOKING co-star Russell Tovey while both were treading the boards, reflecting, "I met Russell on Broadway when he was doing History Boys, and I was doing Spring Awakening. I met him briefly then, but we officially met at the screen cast for Looking because we were both up for the part of Patrick."
