Jon Hamm, Chris Pine & Kristen Wiig Join Netflix's WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER Series

Netflix's WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER series is enlisting some additional big names.

After yesterday's first teaser - confirming Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd and others' involvement - Deadline reports that Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Chris Pine, and Jason Schwartzman have also joined the cast.

Details are scarce, though a source says that "Hamm will play a secret spy" and "Wiig is playing a snobby counselor at the preppy rival camp Camp Tigerclaw."

The project also features Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, David Hyde Pierce, Molly Shannon, and Michael Showalter are among some of the cast joining the series, which tells the story of the first day of Camp Firewood's famous summer season, now fourteen years after the film's debut.

WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER: THE FIRST DAY will consist of eight episodes, with a summer premiere date on Netflix.

The series is directed by David Wain and co-written by Wain and Michael Showalter.

Jon Hamm is an American actor, known mostly for his run on AMC's 'Mad Men' which earned him a Golden Globe award in 2008. Hamm has recently made appearances in feature films such as 'The Town,' 'The Day the Earth Stood Still,' and 'Bridesmaids.' Hamm is currently involved with the final season of 'Mad Men,' which is set to air in early 2015.

Wiig, who starred on "Saturday Night Live" for seven seasons, where she portrayed numerous indelible characters and was nominated for four Emmys, has gone on to a remarkably varied and accomplished range of work. Her recent credits include The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Anchorman 2 and Hateship, Loveship as well as voice work in the Despicable Me and How to Train Your Dragon franchises. Wiig will next be seen in The Skeleton Twinsreleased this fall in addition to two independent films; Nasty Baby and Welcome to Me.

Pine was recently seen in Disney's INTO THE WOODS as 'Cinderella's Prince'. His upcoming projects include Z for Zachariah, The Finest Hours and Mantivities. He recently appeared on the big screen in Horrible Bosses 2, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and the Star Trek films.
