Bateman is also currently set to star in and direct The Family Fang, which begins production next month in New York. His first project as actor-director was Bad Words, which hit screens last year.
Bateman's other upcoming projects (in front of the camera) include The Longest Week, This Is Where I Leave You and Horrible Bosses 2. He also recently appeared in the TV series Growing Up Fisher and is well known for his role as 'Michael Bluth' on the now-Netflix-based comedy series Arrested Development.
Katz developed and directed the play Freak, which starred John Leguizamo (who also wrote the show) on Broadway in 1998; it was nominated for Tony Awards for Best Play and Best Actor in a Play. Six of Katz's plays were selected as part of LAByrinth Theater Company's "Barn Series Festival" from 2006 to 2011. His play Philip Roth in Khartoum appeared off-Broadway in 2008 at The Public Theater and is now reportedly in development for the West End.
Among Katz's works for the screen are the cult movie The Pest, FOX's TV show House of Buggin', The Man Who Couldn't Forget (still in development with Columbia), the upcoming comedy series The Sober Coach for CBS, and a movie on the true story of Clark Rockefeller (still in the queue).
