The film, directed by Allan Seidelman, follows an elderly woman (Gina Rowlands) who hires a much younger - and much more energetic - dance instructor (Jackson) to give her one-on-one lessons for six weeks. Throughout the weeks and lessons, they develop an intimate friendship, putting aside their differences, and opening up to each other. Weaver will play Irene, one of Michael's dance students.

The story is based on Alfieri's play, which opened on Broadway in 2003 and has since received productions in 20 countries, becoming a regional and international hit with audiences.

Weaver will next appear in Parkland, Haunt, Frank or Francis, Wild Oats and the TV movie The McCarthys. Her many film credits include Stoker, Silver Linings Playbook (for which she was nominated for a 2013 Oscar) and The Five-Year Engagement, among others. She has appeared in the TV series Water Under the Bridge, Homicide, Matlock Police, Division 4 and many more.
