Is DOCTOR WHO Bringing the Tardis to a Theater Near You?

According to London's Daily Mail the feature-film length first episode of the new "Doctor Who" series will be broadcast around the world beginning on August 23rd.

In the new series, veteran actor Peter Capaldi will become the 12th actor to take on the iconic role of the Doctor.

Steven Moffat, the Executive Producer of "Doctor Who" said, "Last November The Doctor didn't just conquer the world on television, he did it in the cinemas too. And like the show-off he is, he can't resist another go - one taste of the silver screen is never enough. On August 23, the new Doctor will begin his new adventures on BBC1 and in cinemas all over the world. Movie-land beware - Capaldi is coming to get you."

Doctor Who follows the Doctor, an alien from the planet Gallifrey, the last of the powerful Time Lords, on his adventures through all of space and time. Traveling in the TARDIS, the time machine resembling a vintage British blue police box that is bigger on the inside, the Doctor almost always side-steps danger armed only with his incredible intelligence and fix-anything sonic screwdriver. The Doctor routinely cheats death by regenerating - changing into a new, fresh body."
