Then while the Seaton brothers and their fellow knights fight the descending scourge, Tyrus Clore swoops in to fill Caprius Seaton's shoes and plant seeds of doubt with his fiancée, Melina. Her slow unraveling of trust for her beloved and increasing ardor for Clore counter balance the efforts the army makes to vanquish the undead and regain their kingdom.

When Dragus Seaton is bitten by a vampire and slowly begins his descent into the undead world, it becomes a race against time: can the army extinguish the vampires' hunger for human blood and dominance before Dragus' life dies out?
