A singularly sensational new look at BROADWAY: BEYOND THE GOLDEN AGE!

Documentarian Rick McKay's tremendous BROADWAY: THE GOLDEN AGE retrospective documentary film will apparently be receiving its sequel in 2015, titled BROADWAY: BEYOND THE GOLDEN AGE, and a brand new extended segment from the raw footage for the film is now available to view, featuring an extensive look at long-running Broadway smash A CHORUS LINE.

McKay shared the video earlier this week, commenting, "This is a very long (at 25 minutes) piece of a chapter about the creation of the original 1975 Broadway show, A CHORUS LINE for the 2015 film, BROADWAY: BEYOND THE GOLDEN AGE, part 2 of RICK MCKAY'S BROADWAY: THE GOLDEN AGE FILM TRILOGY. Fans of the first part of the trilogy have been asking for years to some of the uncut, interview footage that didn't make it into the film, and I thought this was a good opportunity to share some of this material before it is cut down. It is MUCH too long even for a possible full-length documentary feature about the creation of ACL, and when used in "Broadway: BEYOND the Golden Age" it will have to be winnowed down to about 2 minutes, as it is just the first step of creating that legendary show. Mind you, there is no score, and the film has not been color-corrected, audio mastered or archival footage found - so please see it for what it is - a preview of bonus feature on the DVD. And if you have home movies, photos, film or any memorabilia from that time in the theatre or in the ACL workshops, tape sessions or the Broadway or touring run - PLEASE let me know. Thank You - and Enjoy!"

The official description of BROADWAY: BEYOND THE GOLDEN AGE is as follows: "BROADWAY: BEYOND THE GOLDEN AGE is the long-awaited, much anticipated sequel to the award-winning feature film documentary, BROADWAY: THE GOLDEN AGE, which documented American Theatre in the 30's, 40's and 50's. This new installment continues the story from the legendary Broadway season of 1959 (GYPSY, RAISIN IN THE SUN, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, etc.) through the tumultuous 60's (HAIR, OH, CALCUTTA, etc.), the revolutionary 70's (Sondheim, A CHORUS LINE, CHICAGO, etc.) up to the opening of 42ND STREET in 1980. Once again, the filmmaker Rick McKay tells the story with in-depth, candid, personal interviews with over 100 newly filmed, legendary stars, while incorporating never-before-seen footage of the original productions as well as home movies and photos from the stars' personal collections, bringing to life a lost era in American history."
