It's become known as the World's Most Famous Selfie. On Oscar night, host Ellen DeGeneres gathered some of the biggest names in the all-star audience, including Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Lupita Nyong'o for the epic photograph. The image quickly went viral and broke the Twitter record for the most retweeted photo of all time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Publicis CEO Maurice Levy has now valued the selfie at between $800 million and $1 billion. At a recent advertising industry conference, Levy, (whose company represents Samsung, Makers of the phone used to take the photo), shared that his estimate is based on the number of times the photo was shared and seen via social media.

The selfie has been seen by 37 million people around the world, while the Oscars were watched by 43 million worldwide. Once the picture was posted to Twitter on the eve of the Academy Awards, the site experienced intermittent outages for approximately 20 minutes.
