Daniel Espinosa in Talks to Direct Film Adaptations of Jo Nesbo's BLOOD ON THE WATER with Leonardo DiCaprio
According to Deadline, Daniel Espinosa (SAFEH OUSE) has entered negotiations with Warner Bros to helm the film adaptations of Norwegian crime author Jo Nesbo's two-part series BLOOD ON THE WATER, with Leonardo DiCaprio in talks to star. Nesbo is writing the books, due out this fall and next spring, under a pseudonym.
Should the deal go through with Espinosa, Warner Bros. will next meet with writers, according to the report.
BLOOD ON THE WATER follows a "hit man who's forced to go into hiding after he fails on a job and finds himself on the run with his intended target, who unfortunately happens to be his boss's wife."
DiCaprio received his fourth Oscar nomination this year for his performance in The Wolf of Wall Street. He was previously nominated for What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator and Blood Diamond.
Other past film credits include The Great Gatsby, Django Unchained, J. Edgar, Inception, Shutter Island, Revolutionary Road, Body of Lies, The Departed, Catch Me If You Can, Gangs of New York, Romeo + Juliet, and, of course, Titanic.
