Bruce Willis has officially dropped out of THE EXPENDABLES 3 - and Harrison Ford has stepped in.

Sylvester Stallone took to Twitter today to make the announcement, posting: "WILLIS OUT... HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!"

He followed the celebratory tweet with one that hints Willis' departure might not have been completely ammicable: "GREEDY AND LAZY ...... A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE"

Besides Ford and Stallone, the film also features Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Nicolas Cage and Milla Jovovich.

Sources previously confirmed "a younger group of tech-savvy action heroes who initially clash with the older crew, though they eventually team up to save the day."

THE EXPENDABLES 3 is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2014.

Ford will soon be seen on the big screen in Ender's Game, and recently co-starred in 42, the Jackie Robinson biopic. The actor is best known for his role as Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy and the title character of the Indiana Jones film series.

His other film credits include Rick Deckard in Blade Runner, John Book in Witness and Jack Ryan in Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger. His career has spanned six decades and includes roles in several Hollywood blockbusters, including Presumed Innocent, The Fugitive, Air Force One, and What Lies Beneath.
