Bradley Cooper to Produce, Star in LANCE ARMSTRONG Biopic?
RED BLOODED AMERICAN, Warner Bros
Deadline reports that Bradley Cooper will produce and possibly star in the Warner Bros upcoming biopic, RED BLOODED AMERICAN. Jay Roach (HBO's Game Change, Recount) will direct the film from a script penned by Scott Burns.
According to the report, the 'Silver Linings' actor is currently in talks to take on one of the two lead roles of the project, that of disgraced athlete Armstrong or Tyler Hamilton, the former Armstrong teammate who blew the whistle on the athlete's doping habits during a segment of CBS's 60 Minutes.
Initially, Armstrong severely attacked his teammate for breaking the circle of trust while continuing to deny rumors that he took performance enhancing drugs during his races.
Paramount is also developing a movie about the beleagured bicycle racer, based on Cycle Of Lies: The Fall Of Lance Armstrong, a proposal for a book penned by NY Times sportswriter Juliet Macur for HarperCollins.
Cooper was recently seen on the big screen in 'Side Effects'. The actor received an Oscar nomination for 2012's Silver Linings Playbok opposite Jennifer Lawrence.
