Barbara Walters Makes First-Ever Guest Appearance on ABC's THE VIEW Today

Legendary broadcaster Barbara Walters will make her first ever guest appearance on "The View," the daytime program she created for ABC, TODAY, JUNE 27 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET). The show taped on Wednesday, June 25 in New York City. Walters will discuss her exclusive interview with filmmaker Peter Rodger, the father of Elliot Rodger, who killed six people, injured 13, and then took his own life near the campus of the University of California, Santa Barbara last month. The interview will air on an upcoming Special Edition of "20/20," today, June 27.

On May 16, 2014, after 17 incredible seasons, 3,811 shows and 10 different female panelists, Walters said farewell to live daily television with her final co-host appearance on "The View." Behind-the-scenes, Walters remains an active part of "The View" in her role as executive producer along with executive producer Bill Geddie. Walters' farewell show drew 5.2 million Total Viewers and ranks as the show's #4 telecast in its 17 year history.

"The View," a live, one-hour daily talk show from ABC (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET), features Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy. It's the original forum in which real women discuss everyday issues, share their opinions and engage in colorful conversations. "The View," broadcast in HDTV and produced in 2-channel stereo sound, is now available to watch online daily at 4:00 p.m., ET/1:00 p.m., PT on ABC.com. "The View" is owned and produced by ABC. Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie are executive producers.
