Backstage At The Oscars With Idina Menzel! Red Carpet To Onstage To Celebrations
Internationally recognized vocalist and Tony Award-winning Broadway headliner Idina Menzel performed her breakout hit from Disney's super successful animated movie musical FROZEN, "Let It Go", on the Academy Awards telecast last night and the affable and approachable performer offered fans a glimpse behind the scenes at her preparation for the big night - from inappropriate questions from her toddler at home to restroom-set vocal warm-ups, sisterly bonding, Twitter Q&A sessions, backstage views, celebratory hugs and much more shared via social media.
First, earlier this weekend, Menzel shared a humorous parenting moment involving her young son, Walker, revealing, "Getting Oscar jitters guys. Oh and my son pointed to picture of Elsa and said he "wanted to see Elsa's boobies".
Then, Menzel let fans ask her anything they wished via a spontaneous Q&A, generously offering, "hey guys, about to get my mani for the
#oscars, anyone up for a q&a? send your questions!"
During the Q&A, Menzel touched upon much FROZEN minutiae as well as gave a preview of her Oscars ball gown - well, almost - relating, when asked about specifics, "i can't tell you. :)".
Asked to compare preparing for the Oscars versus the Tony Awards, Menzel said, "Same prep, working with voice teacher, just hard to do in the middle of rehearsal for If/Then".
Menzel also shared a shot of her smiling sister, commenting, "Me and my sister getting ready to glam it up
Plus, Menzel posted a pic of herself warming up for her hotly anticipated performance of "Let It Go" - in the bathroom, no less!
"Glamorous warm up before the final run through at the
#Oscars," Menzel sarcastically posited.
Additionally, a first look at the actress on the red carpet is available to view, as well as some celebratory backstage shots with the FROZEN team - who nabbed not only Best Animated Feature but also Best Song for "Let It Go".
