Anne Hathaway recently revealed that with all of the upcoming superhero movies featuring strong female leads, she would love to star in a Catwoman film of her own.

"I would be totally up for doing it" she explained "If Chris [Nolan] was involved. For me, the thing that made doing that part particularly fun was that she existed in his Gotham. Without him I don't think it would be the same thing.

"But I also wonder about that part. If because she's a thief, it's not better to have her be a small part in a larger film. So she can go through and steal aspects of the film. But when the focus is squarely on her, I don't know if it works as well."

When asked if she would also like to have a cameo role in future DC comic films, she said,

"Oh yeah that'd be fun. I'd definitely love that. I want to play her again. I don't know - this is just speculation, because I do think about it sometimes - I think she's got an amazing backstory and it would be great to see her get her own film. But I don't know - she is someone who... mystery serves her well so I don't know what a whole film would do. But who knows?"

Anne Hathaway won a Golden Globe Award, the Screen Actors Guild Award, the BAFTA Award and the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance in the global blockbuster LES MISERABLES.

She came to prominence after playing Mia Thermopolis in the Disney film The Princess Diaries (2001) and in its 2004 sequel. Since then, Hathaway has starred in dramatic films such as Havoc and Brokeback Mountain, in 2005. She has also starred in The Devil Wears Prada (2006) with Meryl Streep and in Becoming Jane (2007) asJane Austen.

In 2008, she won several awards for her performance in Rachel Getting Married and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In 2010, she starred in the box office hits Valentine's Day, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, and Love and Other Drugs and won an Emmy Award for her voice-over performance on The Simpsons. In 2011, she had a voice role in the animated film Rio, and starred in Lone Scherfig's adaptation of One Day. In 2012, she portrayed Catwoman in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight.
