Overzealous mall cop Paul Blart will soon make his return.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Andy Fickman is in talks to direct the sequel to 2009 comedy, PAUL BLART: MALL COP, with Kevin James set to reprise his role and pen the script with original co-writer Nick Bakay.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop followed the most dedicated-if not talented-mall cop at West Orange Pavilion Mall in New Jersey. When the mall is taken over by a gang of crooks, Paul gets his chance to prove himself. But does he have what it takes to fend off the bad guys and save the girl?

The film took in over $146 million domestically when it was first released.

Fickman's directorial credits include PARENTAL GUIDANCE with Billy Crystal and Bette Midler, YOU AGAIN with Kristen Bell, and SHE'S THE MAN.
