The 5th Annual Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival will take place from July 31st - August 4th of 2013 at the legendary Egyptian Theatre located at 6712 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, CA 90028.

The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival (HBRFEST) has announced its 2013 film lineup today. The program showcases the best and most recent selection of Brazilian films, many of which have screened in world prestigious film festivals like Berlin, Rotterdam and Locarno, a special retrospective screening, industry seminars, networking parties and a competition awards ceremony. A diverse mix of 23 feature films and shorts will be screened at this year's festival, among them 1 international premiere, 1 U.S. Premiere, 1 West Coast Premiere. The elegant Opening and Closing Awards night galas will be attended by an intermingling of Hollywood celebrities, Brazilian icons and bold new artists, luminaries, musicians, film industry executives and dignitaries from various Latin American countries, all on hand to celebrate and indulge in Brazil's known-for warm hospitality and vibrant festival conviviality.

Portugal will be honored as the invited country and HBRFF is thrilled to share the contributions of Dario Oliveira, director of Vila do Conde IFF , who will present two shorts' programs (80' each) representing the "best of contemporary Portuguese cinema", including*O Canto do Rocha, Helvécio Marins Jr. 20'.

HBRFEST is the only Hollywood-based film festival dedicated to addressing the cultural, creative and commercial exchange between Hollywood, the international film industry and the Brazilian Film Community. International film industry and movie fans will have the exclusive opportunity to experience the unique range of genre highlighting the multi-cultural diversity of an exciting and growing new independent Brazilian cinema. The intimate gathering allows the public to meet with the invited filmmakers, actors and film co-production partners.

The festival invites everyone to attend with open doors by offering all its screenings for free from August 1st until August 3th, 2013. the OPENING NIGHT GALA WITH THE FILM *E Além de Tudo me Deixou Mudo o Violão / While my Guitar Gently Weeps, Anna Muylaert. 60' is an invitation only event, However we are selling 200 tickets for the community for a very low price.

OPENING NIGHT FILM - Out-of- competition - INTERNATIONAL PREMIERE (IP)
*E Além de Tudo me Deixou Mudo o Violão / While my Guitar Gently Weeps, Anna Muylaert. 60'

In this pulsing coming of age story, an irrepressible 14 year-old girl deals with her restless teen angst, and the broken aftermath of her parents' torrid relationship, by playing an old acoustic guitar - until her fragile held life splits at the seams. Anna Muylaert is a special honoree guest of the festival. Her 2002 cult classic film, Durval's Disco will be the Closing night film.

Tickets for the Opening and Closing Awards galas are highly limited and will sell out fast. Last year they were 80% sold within the first week of the announcement so we encourage you to act before the ticket deadline, July 31th.

Parking instructions:Read Meter signs carefully. Parking regulations have changed and much of the parking is one hour only and meters are enforced until 8pm or later on side streets near the theatre. There is also free street parking on Selma (south of Hollywood Blvd.) and other area side streets.Cherokee & Selma (south of Hollywood Boulevard).South of Hollywood Blvd. there are attended Grant Parking lots on McCadden Place and on Las Palmas. Parking is $8-$20 flat rate maximum. They do NOT offer validation to Egyptian Theatre customers, but the stores in the complex validate so people can get validated that way or there is a $5 lot on Selma.
