NBC Wins Wednesday in Total Viewers; SVU, CHICAGO P.D. Win Time Slots

With top-25 results from "Chicago Fire," "Law & Order: SVU," "Chicago P.D.," "Chicago Med," "The Blacklist" and "Superstore," NBC has generated a 1.0 rating, 3 share in adults 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers overall for the primetime ratings week of Feb. 1-7, according to "live plus same day" results from Nielsen Media Research.

Pacing NBC's week were the top-25 rankings among primetime programs on the Big 4 in adults 18-49 for Tuesday's "Chicago Fire" (tied for #12), Wednesday's "SVU" (tied for #12), Wednesday's "Chicago P.D." (tied for #14), Tuesday's "Chicago Med" (tied for #16), Thursday's "Blacklist" (tied for #19) and Monday's "Superstore" (tied for #22). Rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows.

Season to date, NBC is running within 0.1 of a rating point of #1 behind Super Bowl-boosted CBS in adults 18-49 and is tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks in men 18-49 and men 18-34 and #1 outright among those nets in women 18-34.

NBC's total-viewer average of 8.929 million is the network's highest at this point in a season without a SUPER BOWL or Olympic boost since 2006-07 (9.8 million).

Primetime averages for the week of Feb. 1-7 in adults 18-49 are: CBS, 7.7 rating, 24 share; Fox, 1.2/4; ABC, 1.2/4; NBC, 1.0/3 and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 25.2 million; ABC, 5.9 million; NBC, 4.5 million; Fox, 4.2 million; and CW, 1.7 million.

"Most current" averages for the season to date are: CBS, 2.6/8; NBC, 2.5/8; Fox, 2.1/7; ABC, 1.8/6; and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 11.8 million; NBC, 8.9 million; ABC, 6.7 million; Fox, 6.4 million; and CW, 1.9 million.

NBC highlights for the week of Feb. 1-7:

Monday

Superstore" (1.4/5 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET) retained 93% of the prior week's rating in adults 18-49 (1.4 vs. 1.5) and 100% in adults, men and women 18-34. "Live Plus Three Day" Ratings: "Superstore" grew by +22% going from "live plus same day" to "live plus three day" ratings in 18-49 (1.40 to 1.71, currently without VOD viewing included) and by 661,000 viewers overall (4.9 million to 5.6 million). The lift of 0.31 of a rating point is "Superstore's" biggest DVR-only L+3 lift to date. "Live Plus Seven Day" Ratings: To date, "Superstore" has grown in L+7 vs. L+SD by +27% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.73 to a 2.20) and 1.1 million viewers overall (6.1 million to 7.2 million). Upscale: "Superstore generates a solid upscale audience, indexing at a 112 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes.

"Telenovela" (0.8/2 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall from 8:30-9 p.m. ET) finished within 0.1 of the prior week's 0.9 in 18-49 and retained 93% week to week in total viewers (3.1 million vs. 3.3 million). L+3: "Telenovela" grew by +17% going from "live plus same day" to "live plus three day" ratings in 18-49 (0.81 to 0.95, currently without VOD viewing included) and by 364,000 viewers overall (3.1 million to 3.4 million). L+7: "Telenovela" has increased by +21% this season in 18-49 rating (from a 1.21 to a 1.47) and 768,000 viewers overall (4.4 million to 5.1 million) going from L+SD to L+7. Upscale: "Telenovela" has generated a strong upscale audience, indexing at a 117 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes.

"The Biggest Loser 17" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC for its second hour from 10-11 p.m. L+3: "Loser" grew by +34% in 18-49 (0.98 to 1.31, currently without VOD viewing included) and 935,000 viewers (3.2 million to 4.1 million) going from L+SD to L+3. L+7: "Loser" has increased by +40% this season going from L+SD to L+7 in 18-49 (1.09 to 1.53) and by 1.2 million viewers overall (3.6 million to 4.8 million). Upscale: "Loser" delivers a solid upscale audience, indexing at a 114 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes.

Tuesday

"Hollywood Game Night" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) grew from its first half-hour to its second by +10% in adults 18-49 rating (1.0 to 1.1).

"Chicago Med" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 7.5 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) doubled NBC's rating in the slot on the same night last year (1.6 vs. 0.8 for comedies) and tripled the year-ago figure in total viewers (7.5 million vs. 2.5 million). "Med" built by +45% on its lead-in in 18-49 and +83% in total viewers. L+3: "Med" increased by +38% in 18-49 (1.60 to 2.20) and more than 2.1 million viewers (7.5 million to 9.7 million) going from L+SD to L+3. L+7: "Chicago Med" has increased by +42% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.93 to a 2.74) and 2.8 million viewers overall (8.5 million to 11.3 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

"Chicago Fire" (1.8/6 in 18-49, 8.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key measure, ranking #1 by a +50% margin among those nets (1.8 vs. 1.2 for CBS's #2 "NCIS" encore). "Fire" maintained a 1.8 rating for a fourth straight telecast to deliver its 20thconsecutive time-period win in 18-49 versus regular ABC-CBS competition in that 10-11 p.m. slot when in original, dating back to February 2015. L+3: "Fire" grew by +51% in 18-49 (1.77 to 2.68) and 3.1 million viewers (8.2 million to 11.3 million) going from L+SD to L+3. L+7: "Chicago Fire" has grown by +62% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.85 to a 2,99) and 3.6 million viewers overall (8.0 million to 11.6 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

Wednesday

NBC won Wednesday in total viewers with slot victories for "Law & Order: SVU" and "Chicago P.D."

"The Mysteries of Laura" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 6.8 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) grew +10% versus the same night last year in 18-49 (1.1 vs. 1.0 on Feb. 4, 2015) and by +8% in total viewers (6.847 million vs. 6.365 million). L+3: "Laura" increased by +33% in 18-49 (1.10 to 1.46) and more than 1.5 million viewers (6.8 million to 8.4 million) going from L+SD to L+3. L+7: "The Mysteries of Laura" has increased by +39% this season in 18-49 rating (from a 1.12 to a 1.56) and 1.8 million viewers overall (7.0 million to 8.8 million) going from L+SD to L+7. Upscale: "Laura" is delivering a solidly upscale audience, indexing at a 109 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.8/6 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) ranked #1 in the time period in adults 18-49 and total viewers, with gains versus its previous first-run telecast of +6% in both 18-49 (1.8 vs. 1.7 on Jan. 20) and total viewers (7.3 million vs. 6.9 million). "SVU" grew from half-hour to half-hour by +12% in 18-49 (1.7 to 1.9) and was up in every other key measure. L+3: "SVU" grew by +48% in 18-49 (1.78 to 2.63) and 2.3 million viewers (7.3 million to 9.6 million) going from L+SD to L+3. L+7: "Law & Order: SVU" has grown by +68% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.69 to a 2.84) and 3.0 million viewers overall (7.2 million to 10.2 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

"Chicago P.D." (1.7/6 in 18-49, 7.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) grew+13% versus its prior original (1.7 vs. 1.5 on Jan. 20) and +11% in total viewers (7.2 million vs. 6.5 million), to win the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and all other key measures. "P.D." has now finished #1 or tied for #1 in 18-49 versus the time period's regular ABC and CBS drama competition with its last 28 regular-slot originals, dating back to November 2014. L+3: "P.D." increased by +53% in 18-49 (1.66 to 2.54) and 3.0 million viewers (7.2 million to 10.2 million) going from L+SD to L+3. L+7: "Chicago P.D." has grown by +68% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.57 to a 2.63) and 3.4 million viewers overall (6.8 million to 10.2 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

Thursday

"You, Me and the Apocalypse" averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET. The prior week's "You, Me and the Apocalypse" added close to a quarter-million full-episode views (P2+) in six days on NBC.com and Hulu (230,980). L+3: "Apocalypse" grew by +23% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3 (0.86 to 1.06) and by 676,000 persons in total viewers (3.5 million vs. 4.1 million). Upscale: "Apocalypse" is capturing a strong upscale audience, indexing at a 125 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes ("most current" including L+3).

"The Blacklist" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) retained +94% of the previous week's 1.6 rating in 18-49, which matched the show's high since its season premiere last Oct. 1. "Blacklist" improved the slot by +25% versus NBC's average last season in 18-49 (1.5 vs. 1.2, L+SD non-sports) and +22% in total viewers (6.473 million vs. 5.333 million). L+3: "Blacklist" increased by +72% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3 (1.47 to 2.53) and 3.8 million persons in total viewers (6.5 million vs. 10.3 million). L+7: "The Blacklist" has grown by +97% this season in 18-49 rating (from a 1.51 to a 2.98) and 4.9 million viewers overall (7.1 million to 12.0 million) going from L+SD to L+7. Upscale: "Blacklist" is generating a strong upscale audience, indexing at a 150 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes ("most current" including L+3).

"Shades of Blue" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) improved the time period by +38% versus NBC's regular-program season average in the slot before "Shades" (1.1 vs. 0.8, L+SD excluding sports and specials). In the time period, "Shades" finished within 0.1 of a point of #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and tied for #1 among those nets in adults 18-34 and all key adult-female demos.

L+3: "Shades" grew by +76% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3 (1.15 to 2.02) and by 3.4 million persons in total viewers (5.6 million vs. 9.0 million), for the #1 gain over the first four nights of the week on the Big 4 in 18-49 percentage. The prior week's "Shades of Blue" added more than 750,000 full-episode views (P2+) in six days on NBC.com and Hulu (752,702).

L+7: "Shades of Blue" has grown by +85% in adult 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (1.50 to 2.77) and +4.7 million persons in total viewers (7.4 million vs. 12.1 million). The Jan. 21 telecast of "Shades of Blue" grew +93% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+7 (1.36 to 2.62) and +4.535 million in total viewers (6.935 million to 11.470 million), giving it the #3 biggest percentage 18-49 increase of that week on the Big 4, behind only "Limitless" (+100%) and "Blacklist" (+95%), as well as the #2 biggest percentage 18-49 lift this season for Week 3 of a new series on the Big 4, behind only "Quantico" (+109%). The increase of +4.535 million viewers overall is the #3 biggest L+7 total-viewer gain this season for Week 3 of a new series on the Big 4 networks, behind "Blindspot" (+5.646 million) and "Quantico" (+4.903 million).

Friday

"Caught on Camera With Nick Cannon" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) equaled its series high in 18-49 and matched an eight-month time-period high, matching NBC's top 18-49 rating in the slot since June 5, 2015 (1.0 with "Jurassic Park").

"Grimm" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) equaled its highest 18-49 rating since Nov. 6 (1.0 with the second "Grimm" of the season) and captured a season high in total viewers. "Grimm" grew week to week by +13% in 18-49 (0.9 vs. 0.8) and +16% in total viewers (4.4 million vs. 3.8 million). L+7: "Grimm" has increased by +93% this season in 18-49 rating (from a 0.91 to a 1.76) and more than 2.4 million viewers overall (3.7 million to 6.2 million) going from L+SD to L+7. Upscale: "Grimm" is capturing a strong upscale audience this season, indexing at a 118 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes ("most current" including L+3).

"Dateline NBC" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) grew +22% from its first half-hour to its second adults 18-49 (0.9 to 1.1) and also increased half-hour to half-hour in total viewers, adults 25-54 and nearly all other key measures. L+7: Friday's "Dateline NBC" has grown by +28% this season in 18-49 rating (from a 1.04 to a 1.33) and 1.0 million viewers overall (4.9 million to 5.9 million) going from L+SD to L+7. Upscale: "Dateline" delivers a solid upscale audience, indexing at a 109 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes.

Saturday

"Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) grew from its first half-hour to its fourth by +29% in adults 18-49 (from a 0.7 rating to a 0.9), +33% in adults 25-54 (0.9 to 1.2) and +25% in total viewers (3.5 million to 4.4 million).

"SNL Vintage" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET, with an encore of THE MARCH 24, 2007 telecast of "Saturday Night Live" hosted by Peyton Manning with musical guest Carrie Underwood) generated the top 18-49 rating for an "SNL" encore in this time period since Oct. 3 (with host and musical guest Mick Jagger from May 19, 2012, 0.9) and equaled the best since Feb. 21, 2015 (with host Richard Pryor and musical guest Gil Scott-Heron from Dec. 13, 1975, 1.0). It was the most-watched "SNL" rebroadcast in this slot since Nov. 7 (with host Buck Henry and musical guest The Band from Oct. 30, 1976, 3.6 million). Upscale: The previous week's "SNL Vintage" was the most upscale primetime telecast on the Big 4 that night, indexing at a 115 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes.

Sunday

NBC ranked #2 for the night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 with "Dateline NBC" (0.3/1 in 18-49, 1.7 million viewers overall from 7-8:30 p.m. ET) and the NBC Movie of the Week "Pitch Perfect" (0.6/1 in 18-49, 1.8 million viewers overall from 8:30-11 p.m. ET). From its first half-hour to its third, "Dateline" grew by +68% in total viewers (1.2 million to 2.1 million), while "Pitch Perfect" grew from its first half-hour to its fifth by 0.6 of a rating point or +200% in adults 18-49 (from a 0.3 to a 0.9) and by +114% or more than 1.5 million persons in total viewers (1.3 million to 2.9 million).
