Gazzang Announces Support for GE Predix
Press Release, News
Gazzang, the big data security experts, today announced it will support and develop cybersecurity solutions for Predix, GE's software platform for building and managing Industrial Internet applications. Predix enables some of the world's largest companies to more closely measure machine performance and efficiency, and in the process, minimize unplanned downtime.
Launched last week, Predix combines industry-leading technologies from companies including AT&T, Amazon Web Services, Pivotal and Intel to deliver a distributed compute platform for big data analytics, asset management, machine-to-machine communication and mobility.
In a recent press release, GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt, said, "Industrial data is not only big, it's the most critical and complex type of big data. Our greatest challenge and opportunity is to manage and analyze this data in a highly secure way to deliver better outcomes for customers and society. We are developing more predictive solutions and equipping our products with sensors that constantly measure performance so our customers see major productivity gains. Observing, predicting and changing this performance is how the Industrial Internet will help airlines, railroads and power plants operate at peak efficiency."
“Cybersecurity is a key concern when it comes to protecting critical infrastructure services such as aviation, power and water, transportation, oil and gas, and others,” said Larry Warnock, CEO of Gazzang. “Our goal is to develop security solutions that help organizations make machines more efficient and intelligent without exposing them to unnecessary – and potentially disastrous – risks.”
