Does Apple Have 100 Designers Working on an iWatch?

Related: Apple, Watch

Over the weekend, a new article over at the New York Times said that in its labs, Apple is experimenting with a watch.

Today, Bloomberg adds to the news reporting that Apple has a team of about 100 product designers working on a wristwatch computer, according to "two people familiar with the company's plans." They go on to write that "The team, which has grown in the past year, includes managers, members of the marketing group and software and hardware engineers who previously worked on the iPhone and iPad, said the people, who asked not to be named because the plans are private. The team's size suggests Apple is beyond the experimentation phase in its development, said the people."

As usual, Apple declined to comment on its plans, and the article notes that just because something is being worked on in a lab setting doesn't mean that we'll ever see it out in the wild. Here's the report though, and try not to get too exciting. "In its headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., Apple is experimenting with wristwatch-like devices made of curved glass, according to people familiar with the company's explorations, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because they are not allowed to publicly discuss unreleased products. Such a watch would operate Apple's iOS platform, two people said, and stand apart from competitors based on the company's understanding of how such glass can curve around the human body."

iOS based could mean anything from a glorified iPod Nano to a device with multiple capabilities, or something like the recently released Pebble Watch.
