NEW YORK, Nov. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ GODIVA Chocolatier introduces The Legacy Truffle Collection, a new decadent collection handcrafted to pay tribute to the brand's rich heritage, steadfast family traditions and the evolution of their iconic truffles. Imported exclusively from Belgium and available for the first time in North America for the holiday season, this family of truffles celebrates GODIVA's Chef Chocolatiers' commitment to artistry that has been passed down and perfected over the years. Each of the four treasured truffles featured in the collection tells a unique story of GODIVA's heritage, beginning with the 1946 Original Dark Truffle and its evolution with the Gingerbread Cookie Truffle, Black Pearl Tahitian Vanilla Truffle and Honey Vanilla Mousse Truffle.

The Legacy Truffle Collection and GODIVA's story begins with the brand's first Truffle recipe, the 1946 Original Dark Truffle. Following the end of World War II, GODIVA Founder, Joseph Draps, created the Original Dark Truffle using scarce ingredients as a way to spark joy. The 1946 Original Dark Truffle has a rich dark chocolate center that is delicately dipped in silky dark chocolate and hand rolled in cocoa powder. The 1946 Original Dark Truffle set the gold standard that the brand has upheld ever since.

Honoring the brand's deep Belgian roots, GODIVA created the Gingerbread Cookie Truffle as a nod to the traditional Belgian Speculoos, a biscuit made with ginger, cinnamon and cloves. At first bite, the comforting aroma of the spiced biscuit and delectable chocolate transports the chocolate lover straight to Belgium. The light sophisticated mousse, with a hint of speculoos, is dipped in creAmy White chocolate and rolled in crunchy ground biscuits.

The Black Pearl Tahitian Vanilla Truffle is a tribute to the brand founder's son, Pierre Draps, who was a colleague and close friend of GODIVA's Executive Chef Chocolatier, Thierry Muret. The truffle was created to celebrate the brotherhood and everlasting friendship that was founded at GODIVA. With a unique flavor profile, the truffle perfectly captures the curiosity and creativity with which the brand is synonymous. A rich 58% Congo dark chocolate ganache mixed with pure Tahitian vanilla and enrobed in dark chocolate is dusted with black pearl cocoa.

The Honey Vanilla Mousse Truffle thrills the senses with its airy light ganache infused with complex wildflower honey. Covered in smooth dark chocolate and hand-rolled in Bourbon vanilla sugar, the truffle is a salute to GODIVA's continued commitment to originality.

"The story of GODIVA Chocolatier is told through the rich flavors, textures and aromas of the Legacy Truffle collection," states Jeri Finard, President of GODIVA North America." The Legacy Truffle Collection seamlessly melds our timeless traditions with contemporary culinary flavor profiles, capturing the ultimate chocolate experience in every bite. This collection is our way of sharing our GODIVA family story with yours."

The Legacy Truffle Collection further establishes GODIVA as an industry leader and the ultimate destination for decadent truffles. Beginning November 1, 2013, GODIVA's Legacy Truffles are now sold exclusively at GODIVA Boutiques nationwide and available for purchase for $2.50 each.
