Califia Farms, the fastest-growing natural beverage company and the leader in the natural products coffee drinks category(1), is unleashing a new plant-powered coffee experience with the Califia Café. The brand is bringing this new experience to life at coffee events throughout the streets of New York City, delivering the next wave of the coffee-taste evolution by giving coffee drinkers all the ingredients they need to create healthful, delicious customized Cold Brew Coffees at home, free of dairy, soy, saturated fats, oils, GMOs and gluten.

Califia Farms new Concentrated Cold Brew Coffee (CCB) is the centerpiece of the Califia Café. CCB is an especially smooth coffee that blends Rainforest Alliance Certified Arabica and Robusta beans sourced from Vietnam and Mexico that features 60 percent less acidity than hot brewed coffee and teams perfectly with the creaminess of Califia Farms Almondmilks and Coffee Creamers, including the easy-to-steam Barista Blend, a coffee house favorite.

"We want to share our unique cold brew flavor with coffee lovers all over the world - starting with New Yorkers, some of the most sophisticated coffee lovers out there," said Greg Steltenpohl, Califia Farms' CEO. "Sampling at NYC events gives us a chance to show how easy it is to create a cup that is customized to your needs, that is both healthy and plant-powered. However you love your coffee - hot, cold, sweet, creamy, bold...Califia Farms delivers."

Califia Farms is encouraging New Yorkers to "Drink Remarkably" at events spanning Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, including AIDS Walk NYC (Central Park), the Gay Pride Parade (West Village), Seaport Music Festival (South St. Seaport), Taste of Williamsburg (Williamsburg), numerous Village Voice events (including Choice Eats, Choice Streets and 4Knots Music Festival), and street sampling all over the city every weekend from now until September. Follow @CalifiaFarms on Twitter and Instagram for Califia Café event dates and locations; those qualified can enter the "I am #RemarkablyNYC" contest to win a year supply of Califia and a Vitamix blender.

Massive adoption by Millennials and Post-Millennials is driving huge growth in the coffee category, especially for less-processed cold brews: sixty-seven percent opt for coffee over energy drinks when looking for an energy boost, with 43 percent drinking cold brew coffee drinks, personalized to their taste(2).

Unlike traditional hot brewed coffee, cold brewing keeps acids to a minimum and flavor and caffeine to a maximum. Coarse, ground coffee beans are soaked in filtered water for twelve hours or more and the resulting concentrate can be diluted at a 1:1 ratio of CCB to liquid to create either hot or cold drinks or poured over ice cream and used in desserts. Califia Farms uses a special blend of Rainforest Alliance Certified Arabica and Robusta beans sourced from Vietnam and Mexico to make its Concentrated Cold Brew.

The Califia Café also features Califia Farms' popular ready-to-drink Cold Brew Single Serve (10.5 oz) Iced Coffees with Almondmilk, including three new flavors: Triple Shot Cold Brew, Mocha Mexíca Cold Brew and Dirty Chai Cold Brew.

All Califia Farms coffee drinks are soy-free, dairy-free, gluten-free and non-GMO, and all have less sugar and calories than competing products - making them particularly appealing to Mindful Millennials who care deeply about their health and well-being. Califia's ready-to-drink Cold Brew Iced Coffees are already the number one sellers in the natural products coffee drinks category and the fastest growing ready-to-drink natural coffee brand, according to SPINs.

Califia Farms premium Almondmilk, which is known for its creamy deliciousness, is produced using artisanal practices and is the perfect coffee complement. The Almondmilk has garnered numerous awards not only for taste but also for its packaging: a chic, modern design reminiscent of classic milk bottles that consumers are proud to display in their refrigerators. Its popularity, in both conventional and natural foods stores, resulted in a tripling of the company's revenues in the almond milk category from 2013 to 2014.
