You'll love a trip to Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery in Warwick, New York located at the foothills of the Hudson Valley. The setting is in the heart of the "Black Dirt" region that is known for fertile soil and exceptional produce. The winery and distillery offers a unique experience that has brought the best of the Hudson Valley to their guests since 1994. Make it a day-trip or explore area accommodations and have a stay-trip.

Visit their Tasting Room where you can sample their brands that include the Warwick Valley Wines and the award-winning Doc's Draft Hard Ciders. Doc's is New York's original craft cider producer and very popular among cider drinkers. Their American Fruits Fine Brandies and Liqueurs are also a part of the delightful tasting experience. You will want to make some purchases after you decide your favorites and be sure to select some special seasonal choices that are in limited supply.

The expansive grounds of Warwick have lawn and patio areas where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery. You can enjoy fantastic live music on the weekends on "Doc's Cider House Stage." The interior spaces are beautifully renovated from an old apple packing house. With hardwood floors, towering beamed ceilings and generous seating at communal tables, the rustic charm is all part of the ambiance. In the warm months, the barn doors open to the patios. In the colder months, they fire up their wood stoves and have musical entertainment indoors.

While outside food and drink are not permitted, you will want to enjoy the venue's two distinctive eateries that offer something for every taste. Pane Bakery Café is open year-round and serves starters like "Fruit and Cheese," salads, sandwiches and a nice selection of artisan pizzas. We enjoyed a luncheon with a their fresh Mixed Green Salad, a savory Sausage and Sage Pizza and delectable Truffle Fries. Our meal paired perfectly with a bottle of their Pinot Noir that we purchased from their shop. Savor, sip and enjoy.

The Black Dirt Grill is open from May to October with items like Flank Steak, Grilled Portobello Mushroom Sandwich and Grilled Maine Lobster all served with a side salad and chips. This Grill is perfect for grabbing a meal outdoors with friends and family.

Be sure to schedule a fascinating tour of the Black Dirt Distillery. The distillery is located only a mile away from the main grounds and a quick, comfortable Mercedes Benz van ride takes you there. Their tours accommodate about a dozen people. Our guide, Craig Fox shared fascinating insights about the distilling process and seeing the facilities up close is an unforgettable experience. Learn about Black Dirt Distillery's production and indulge in a special tasting of their fine whiskey.
