Top 8 Mother/Daughter Mother's Day Retreats Are Announced

Whether it's a spa vacation, a yoga retreat, a fitness excursion or a wellness-focused learning holiday, a mother/daughter getaway can be an opportunity to bond, reconnect and/or simply relax together. And, wellness retreats, in particular, make for a great Mothers' Day gift - whether the giving is from mother to daughter OR from daughter to mother.

Mother/daughter travel experts Anne Dimon and Julia Dimon have crisscrossed the globe, writing about exotic countries and cultures over 35 years of cumulative travel expertise.

Anne has been a travel writer and industry journalist for over 20 years contributing to publications in the U.S. Canada, the U.K. and Asia. In 2004, she launched TravelToWellness.com, the first online travel magazine for the wellness-minded. Considered a wellness travel expert, Anne speaks on the subject and has consulted on projects for companies such as the New York Times and Virtuoso.

Julia Dimon is a hard-core adventuress, a travel journalist, and on-air TV travel personality who has traveled to over 80 countries and all seven continents. As the co-host of Word Travels, a 40-episode TV series broadcast worldwide on National Geographic Adventure and Travel Channel UK, Julia has been featured as a travel expert by CNN, ABC Nightline, New York Times, Conde Nast Traveller, Travel & Leisure, Forbes Traveler, MSNBC, E! News, Outside Magazine and Travel Channel. She is also the author of Travel Junkie: A Badass Guide to Solo Female Travel. Her newest and most challenging adventure is being Mom to two little travel junkies in training.

"Julia and I have totally different travel personalities. I'm more about luxury, fitness and healthy eating," says Anne. "Julia is more adventurous and finding the best burger, but we always find common ground."

Julia says "hiking with silverback gorillas in Uganda, snorkeled with whale sharks in Mozambique or sleeping with lions in the Serengeti are life changing adventures but meeting up with mom is always special because it typically means a luxury hotel and a five-star spa, and that's pretty awesome, too."

"As daughters grow, leave home, make their own way in the world, and even start their own families it often becomes difficult to carve out time for just the two of you," says Anne. "But taking time out for a quick trip together - even if it's just a two or three-night retreat - can not only be rejuvenating and reenergizing but it can help keep the special mother/daughter bond alive. For some mothers and daughters whose relationship has, perhaps, become strained over the years, it can also help rekindle a reconnect and even launch a fresh start."

Because it's not always convenient for mothers and daughter to get away Mothers Day week or weekend, here are eight of Anne and Julia's top mother/daughter wellness retreats available from April through to November, 2017:
