Fitness Tip of the Day: Skim Your Cinco de Mayo

Fitness Tip of the Day: Skim Your Cinco de Mayo

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo by swapping the traditional high-calorie, fatty foods and drinks for healthier options.

Try a skinny margarita using fresh fruits such as strawberries, peach, and pomegranate mixed with sparkling water and an ounce of tequila. Or have a lighter version of fish tacos using a high-fiber wrap and more protein. Craving creamed corn? Instead, opt for spicy grilled Mexican-style corn on the cob with chili powder-lime seasoning or a touch of sea salt. Want a hearty salad? Try one loaded with black beans, corn, tomatoes, jalapeños, and avocados for a mix of crunchy, sweet, and heat, that is rich in antioxidants, low in calories, and big on taste.

Enjoy all the tastes of Cinco de Mayo without adding the extra bulge.
