Gisele Bundchen Revealed as Top Paid Model; Miranda Kerr Second
It has been revealed that Gisele Bundchen is the world's highest-paid model for the seventh year in a row according to a new ranking by Forbes.
The 33-year-old mother-of-two made $42 million last year thanks to dozens of lucrative fashion and beauty deals. Bundchen made almost six times more than former Victoria's Secret Angel, Miranda Kerr, who came in second, earning $7.2 million.
FORBES' HIGHEST-PAID MODELS IN THE WORLD LIST 2013
1. Gisele Bundchen - $42 million
2. Miranda Kerr - $7.2 million
3. Adriana Lima - $6 million
4. Kate Moss - $5.7 million
5. Liu Wen - $4.3 million
6. Hilary Rhoda - $4 million
7. Carolyn Murphy - $3.6 million
8. Joan Smalls - $3.5 million
9. Candice Swanepoel - $3.3 million
10. Lara Stone - $3.2 million
What's crazy is that Bundchen's $42 million is actually less than what she made the year before ($45 million) but the slip didn't affect her number one spot.
The Australian native Ms. Kerr moved up this year from the seventh spot to the number two spot by expanding her portfolio. She landed major deals with Quantas, David Jones and Mango.
Kate Moss, the British supermodel who made it big with Calvin Klein, slipped down two places to number four with earnings of $5.7million. That is $3.5million less than last year.
Ivan Bart, senior vice president and managing director of IMG models, and her representation, explained to Forbes: 'Kate still has enormous international presence. She's still doing a lot of modeling and business around the world. She's not very 'in-your-face' in the U.S., but she's got a number of English and European associations."
Moss has deals with Versace, Rimmel and Vogue Eyewear, plus her longstanding design deal with TopShop. She is also scheduled to pose nude for Playboy to celebrate her 40th birthday!
