About the Work: The Moving Architects continues to explore Erin Carlisle Norton's signature movement style through three divergent dance works. "The New" poses dangerous renditions of the Twist with Stepford-esque 60's flair; "Jellyfish" reveals liquidy limbs in an emulsifying duet; and "Fixate" embodies complex power plays with the pulsating guitar rhythms of the company's long-time collaborator Ian Hatcher.

Yael Nachajon and company use twisting, collapsing, contact-driven movement to explore interpersonal interactions in this new work, ASAP. The piece amplifies scenarios to the absurd to get to the core of human behavior. " " Choreographer Biographies

Erin Carlisle Norton is Artistic Director of The Moving Architects (TMA), founded in 2007 in Chicago and relocated to NYC in 2013. TMA has performed and taught at universities, dance studies, and community centers throughout Chicago, the Midwest, and East Coast; Guatemala City; and across Morocco and throughout Central Asia through the U.S. Embassy/Department of State. The Moving Architects' season is sponsored by The Illinois Arts Council, a state agency and many generous individuals. The creation/rehearsal of this work was made possible in part by subsidized rehearsal space at Center for Performance Research.

Yael Nachajon is a New York based choreographer, dancer and actress with degrees in Psychology and Dance from Princeton University. She has created full works; "Balled Up" (Princeton), "7,000 Days" (Italy), and "Paper Wind" (Ridgewood), as well as performed in staged productions of Bill T. Jones's "Continuous Replay" and Mark Morris' "Grand Duo." Recently, she worked as Susan Marshall's rehearsal manager in preparation for Marshall's upcoming performance at BAM this fall. She is interested in exploring the cross-section of dance and theater and is always looking for opportunities to collaborate and create new work.

FERTILE GROUND is a monthly new works showcase for emerging and established artists now in its 8th season, producing the work of over 50 choreographers each year. This non-curated performance event features five-six choreographers each evening, and includes a post-performance discussion with wine and cheese, moderated by Green Space's Artistic Director, Valerie Green.
