TexARTS Welcomes THE LION KING'S Kendra Moore for Master Dance Class Today

Kendra Moore, dance captain of the national tour of The Lion King, will conduct The Lion King Master Dance Class, today, February 2, 2013 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at TexARTS.

Moore trained in Edmonton, Alberta and has performed in the The Lion King Cheetah tour since 2003. Moore previously danced with Ballet Austin as well as Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.

In this master class, Austin area musical theatre performers will have the opportunity to work directly with Moore and other cast members. Moore will teach the original Broadway choreography of selected numbers from this international hit musical. This master class is an excellent opportunity for performers of all ages to work with New York talent, sharpen their skills and have fun.

"My advice for dancers who want to follow a career on Broadway is to become as versatile as you can, said Moore. "Take as many different styles of dance classes as you can, train your voice, take acting class. Work on becoming a triple threat. You never know what skills the casting agents are looking for."

The cost is $45 and dancers of all levels are welcome. The master class will be held at TexARTS in the Erin Doherty Studios (2300 Lohmans Spur, Suite #160, Lakeway, TX). For more information or to enroll, visit http://www.tex-arts.org/thelionking.html or call 512-852-9079 x 104.
