Sally Turkel Promoted to Principal Dancer with Ballet San Antonio

Following a successful run of The Nutcracker, Artistic Director Gabriel Zertuche has promoted company member Sally Turkel to Principal Dancer effective immediately.

Ms. Turkel danced with Colorado Ballet, Carolina Ballet and Houston Ballet II before joining Ballet San Antonio in 2013 as a Soloist. Ms. Turkel has danced numerous leading roles while at Ballet San Antonio including Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother in Ben Stevenson's Cinderella, Mina Murray in Mr. Zertuche's Dracula, and the lead role in Mr. Zertuche's Valsa de San Valentino. Ms. Turkel performed the leading roles of Snow Queen and Sugarplum Fairy to rave reviews in this season's production of The Nutcracker.

With her promotion, Ms. Turkel joins Sarah Pautz, Ian Morris and Jayson Pescasio as one of Ballet San Antonio's four principal dancers.
