New dancers, new costumes, new numbers from top choreographers and new energy will electrify audiences at the SCERA Center for the Arts this month when celebrated dance producer Kim Delgrosso presents "Pulse: A Fusion of Music & Dance" Jan. 14-17.

Delgrosso is the co-owner and artistic director of Center Stage Performing Arts Studios in Orem, which won the coveted National Studio of the Year in 2012 and is known nationally and internationally for producing top dance talent. Many of the studio's dancers have gone on to perform and excel on Fox's So You Think You Can Dance, ABC's Dancing with the Stars, on Broadway and in movies and music videos.

"Pulse" will begin at 7 p.m. at SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 S. State St., Orem. Reserved-seat tickets at $12 for adults and $10 for children 3-11 and seniors 65 and older are available at www.scera.org , by calling (801) 225-ARTS, or at the box office at SCERA, open 10am-6pm weekdays or Saturdays from 12Noon-6pm.

"This is an amazing show featuring some of our finest and emerging students," says Delgrosso. "We will highlight many dance styles, which has prompted the interest of producers from NBC's America's Got Talent, who are coming to preview the performance and then hold auditions at our studio."

Delgrosso says the bar keeps accelerating for today's dancers, and she has many students who reach that bar. High among them is Kennedy Kallas, a ballerina prodigy, who will perform both solo and ensemble numbers. "We have trained Kennedy since she was a little girl. We saw her potential then, and now that she is a teenager, a lot of groups are wooing her and giving her offers. She is exploding. We probably can hold onto her only a year or two more and then she will need to train in New York City. She is a wonderful dancer with the most beautiful feet. Don't be surprised if she takes your breath away."

Other dance styles to be showcased include ballroom, jazz and hip hop.

Anchoring the musical portion of the concert will be Gentry, whose most recent concert was a performance for the Utah Governor's Gala. Delgrosso says she is excited to not only give them stage time but also to present them to Utah Valley audiences. "I think they are going to be huge," she predicts. Gentry is a harmony trio who are a cross between Josh Groban and Il Divo.

Also featured will be the ballroom group from Center Stage that won first place in national competition at Brigham Young University.

"This is not a competition concert, which pleases me," says Delgrosso. "My dancers can just concentrate of giving audiences a strong theatrical experience where they can dance for the joy of dancing."

Delgrosso has formed a production company and frequently provides dancers for many industrial shows and private parties. She has been able to supplement her dancers' incomes as they navigate their careers, and most of her students are able to procure their desired dance scholarships on their way to becoming professional dancers. Currently she is working with former dancers who appeared on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" in the early years, because they will return as part of the show's 10th year commemoration.
