A company of misfits, bringing to the stage the world of misfits from varied time periods, Rev9 Dance Company brings its brand of high-energy athletic dance to Lancaster this summer for one night only August 11 at 7 PM at the Ware Center, 42 North Prince Street.

In their fourth season, Rev9's past productions include REVOLUTION 9 (set to the Beatles' White Album); FACTORY, based on Andy Warhol and '77, based on the music movement in New York City.

The August 11th performance features works from past productions along with new works-in-progress, creating a big-city performance experience by blending dance and aerobatics. The performance will also feature guest performers in hip hop from Morton's Dance Center, choreographed by Elijah Morton. There will be a post-show wine reception in the lobby.

Comprised of local performers, Rev9 is directed by Kristin Pontz and Heather Bare. Their collaborative work has been featured in the Lancaster area as well as at the Philly Fringe Festival and in Reading through the Berks Area Arts Council.

"Many people aren't aware of the rich dance community we have in Lancaster," says Pontz. "This is a chance for us to introduce new audiences to our work."

"I've wanted to showcase Rev9 and Kristin's and Heather's work for a long time now," said Harvey Owen, Director of the Ware & Winter Centers at Millersville University. "I've admired their creativity and the sheer energy behind every piece. Their work is just another example of the amazing art coming out of this city." The production is co-produced by Millersville University.

This show contains some mature subject matter. Tickets are $20. The tickets include a post-show wine reception with Rev 9 dancers and creators.
