Photo Flash: Sneak Peek at THUS SPOKE..., Opening Tonight at SummerWorks 2014
Montreal's Daniel Leveillé danse presents THUS SPOKE... as part of SummerWorks. The piece is a new dance-theatre genre choreographed by Frédérick Gravel and written by Étienne Lepage. THUS SPOKE... explodes the codes and conventions of theatre and dance as it bodily takes hold of our era to disrupt the established order. Scroll down for a sneak peek!
Together, the brilliant writer Lepage and the wild choreographer Gravel have concocted an unclassifiable pop piece that is cheeky and devilishly sexy, combining speech and movement that shifts from Nietzsche to Hendrix, from scathing tirade to rock-and-roll show, from electrifying rant to laid-back rhythmics.
Translated by Chantal Bilodeau, THUS SPOKE... features direction and scenography by Frédérick Gravel and Étienne Lepage and is performed by Frédérick Gravel, Frédéric Lavallée, Marilyn Perreault, and Anne Thériault. Featuring lighting by Frédérick Gravel, sound by Stéphane Boucher, and costumes by Elen Ewing.
