Metropolitan Ballet Company (MBC) welcomes the community to its 19th Annual Spring Showcase performances at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm today, May 30 and tomorrow, May 31, 2015. All performances will be held at The Josephine Muller Auditorium on the campus of Abington Friends School, 575 Washington Lane, Jenkintown, PA. Scroll down for a sneak peek at the program!

Metropolitan's Showcase is a high-quality production that includes repertoire works presented by MBC, joining students from its affiliated school, the pre-professional Metropolitan Ballet Academy, named by Pointe magazine as one of America's top seven ballet studios. Each Showcase performance runs 90 minutes, including one intermission. With 402 seats, the intimate Muller Auditorium provides an ideal setting for families and individuals of all ages to enjoy an afternoon of dance with high production value.

The 19th Annual Metropolitan Ballet Spring Showcase features an exciting program of classical and contemporary works, made possible by the generous support of community businesses, foundations and individuals.

The 2015 program includes:

- Don Quixote Suite, Excerpts from Act II: The Dream and Act III: The Wedding

Choreography: Petipa/Ivanov as staged by Natalya Zeiger; Music: Ludwig Minkus, Ricardo Drigo

- Salta

Choreography: Kate Carr; Music: J. S. Bach

- Coalesce (Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 pm shows)

Choreography: Sarah Mettin; Music: Mika Vainio, Julianna Barwick; Costume Design and Creation: Jan Schleiger; World Premiere, Metropolitan Ballet Company, March 7, 2015

- Two Wills (Saturday at 4:00 pm show)

Choreography: Sarah Mettin; Music: John Silva

- Night Run (Sunday at 4:00 pm show)

Choreography: Tommie-Waheed Evans; Music: René Aubry; Costumes: Jan Schleiger

- The Three Wishes - a story ballet about a woodcutter who learns to be careful what you wish for

Choreography: Lisa Collins Vidnovic; Boy's ensembles by Yuri Didash, Oleg Goudimyak, and Lisa Collins Vidnovic; Music: Bizet, Brahms, Dvorak, German, Janacek, Piernet, Prokofiev, Rutter, Smetana, and Strauss; Costumes: Jan Schleiger, Bonnie L. Phinney, and Lisa Collins Vidnovic.

Tickets are $15 and may be purchased online at www.metropolitanballetcompany.org or at the door, subject to availability. As Showcase performances typically sell-out, advance ticket purchase is recommended. Showcase is equally enjoyed by everyone from young students to seniors; groups are welcome.
