Society for the Performing Arts welcomes Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater back to Houston for three performances in Jones Hall, Friday, March 14 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, March 15 at 2 p.m.; and Friday, March 15 at 8 p.m. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek below!

Led by Robert Battle in his third season as Artistic Director, the Company's diverse repertory features premieres and new productions representing a wide range of important choreographic voices that give Ailey's extraordinary group of artists new ways to inspire audiences. Each performance will feature a different program; though all three will conclude with Alvin Ailey's signature masterpiece Revelations (1960).

Friday night will include Grace (1999), one of the most popular works in the Ailey repertory depicting individuals on a journey to the promised land and choreographed by Ronald K. Brown;

D-Man in the Waters (1998; Ailey premiere 2013), a celebration of life and the resiliency of the human spirit that embodies loss, hope and triumph with non-stop movement and choreographed by modern dance innovator Bill T. Jones; followed by Revelations.

The Saturday matinee will feature Another Night (2012), which fuses the many dynamic facets of American dance and showcases the artistry and versatility of the Ailey dancers, and is choreographed by Kyle Abraham; In/Side (2008), a gripping male solo by Robert Battle that is set to Nina Simone's "Wild is the Wind"; The River (1970/Ailey premiere 1980), a legendary collaboration between two great American artists, Alvin Ailey and Duke Ellington, that was originally choreographed for American Ballet Theatre; and Revelations.

Saturday evening's program includes a repeat performance of Grace, followed by renowned Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin'sMinus 16 (1999/Ailey premiere 2012) which features a delightfully eclectic score ranging from Dean Martin to mambo, techno to traditional Israeli; and Revelations.

Tickets range from $43-$140 and can be purchased online at www.spahouston.org, by phone at 713-227-4772 or at the courtyard level ticket office at Jones Hall located at 615 Louisiana St. Hours of operation: 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday - Friday. For groups of 15 or more call 713-632-8113.
