Photo Flash: New York's Top Chefs Support Groove With Me Dance Program for Girls

Groove With Me's annual benefit, Tap & Tapas, took place on Monday, April 24 at Studio 450. The dazzling event included a walk around tasting of New York's hottest chefs and restaurants including Becky Flammino of Beauty & Essex, Jaime Sudberg of Vandal, Julian Medina of La Chula, Ryan Angulo & Justin Fulton of French Louie, Elpidio Escamilla of Corner Social, Garett McMahan of Baccarat Hotel, Joe Leone of Joe Leone's Italian Specialties, Joe LoNigro of Otto's Tacos, Rebecca Baez of Javelina, and Lynn Bound of Feinstein's/54 Below. The night included special performances by Groove With Me dancers and award-winning dancer and choreographer Jason Samuels Smith. Alison Stroming of Dance Theatre of Harlem was honored as a role model for Groove With Me girls and young women.

Groove With Me provides free dance classes and performance opportunities to girls 4-18 years old residing in East Harlem and the South Bronx. Groove With Me's programming aims to empower young women while providing a safe and creative space for the whole family to grow and flourish. Groove With Me celebrates 20 years of 'dancing to a positive future.'
