A reality television producer is turning to films, but sticking with familiar content.

Deadline reports that Nigel Lythgoe, producer and judge of reality dance show SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE will helm a new film about the dancing world. Entitled TACKLING ROMEO, the film is described as akin to PITCH PERFECT.

"Tackling Romeo follows East Coast prep school senior Bobby Sherwood, a star Rugby player who sets about trying to become a ballet dancer in secret," writes Deadline. "As he juggles his life at school with his dreams of dancing, he finds these worlds colliding as he struggles with living up to the expectations of his family and friends, and who he is inside."

Lythgoe strongly supports the film and sees it as his calling. "When I was first introduced to this project by my son, Simon, I realized this is the dance film I have spent my whole life wanting to make."

Casting has already begun in New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut, in advance of TACKLING ROMEO's debut at the Berlin Film Festival.
