Moscow Festival Ballet Returns to RiverCenter for the Performing Arts With GISELLE, 2/22

RiverCenter for the Performing Arts celebrates Valentine's Day with a performance of Giselle by the Moscow Festival Ballet, Tuesday, February 22nd at 7:30 p.m.

With a moving score and choreography by the French master Marius Petipa, the company brings to life the story of a peasant girl who falls in love with a prince, and then dies. Her hours are then spent haunting-and protecting-her true love.

First seen in Moscow in 1843, just two years after its creation in Paris, this full-length classical ballet is a favorite among ballet lovers around the world.

Haunting and poetic, this heartbreaking romance provides scene after breathtaking scene of ballet at its best. It's a must-see for everyone, from the ballet newcomer to the most devoted fan.

Passion, betrayal, a battle with the Wilis (a group of evil female spirits), and ultimate redemption make Giselle a story that captures the imagination, generation after generation.

Complete with resplendent costumes and sets, the Moscow Festival Ballet production features leading dancers from across Russia, who under the direction of legendary principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, Sergei Radchenko, stage an amazing new production of this timeless classic.

Since its inception, the Moscow Festival Ballet has completed multiple tours of the United States and Europe, with extraordinary receptions in the UK, Italy, France, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands.

Tickets range from $34 - $49 and can be purchased online at www.rivercenter.org, by phone at 706.256.3612, or in the Box Office, Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 5:30pm.

Student rush tickets are $10 each and available on the day of the show, based on availability and with valid student I.D.
