La Mirada Theatre to Screen Matthew Bourne's SWAN LAKE, 8/10

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts is thrilled to announce a high definition screening of Matthew Bourne's legendary reimagining of SWAN LAKE, directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne and broadcast for one screening only on Sunday, August 10 at 2pm at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd. in La Mirada.

When it premiered at Sadler's Wells in 1995, Matthew Bourne's triumphant re-interpretation of Swan Lake turned tradition upside down, taking the dance world by storm. Now you can watch this modern day classic on our giant movie screen. An iconic production, perhaps best-known for replacing the traditional female corps de ballet with a menacing male ensemble, was filmed at Sadler's Wells, London in 2011.

The stellar cast includes the magnificent Richard Winsor as the lead Swan/Stranger, Dominic North as The Prince and Nina Goldman as The Queen. Breathtaking in its drama and intensity.

The cast of SWAN LAKE also includes Richard Winsor as the Swan/Stranger, Dominic North as the Prince, Nina Goldman as the Queen, Madelaine Brennan as the Girlfriend, Steve Kirkham as the Private Secretary, and Joseph Vaughan as the Young Prince.

With more than 30 international theatre awards including three Tonys and an Olivier, Swan Lake has been acclaimed as a landmark achievement on the stage, becoming the longest running ballet in the West End and on Broadway.
